Snowy Scene in a Jar
The older I get, the easier I want my DIY endeavors to be.
I recently cleaned out a crafting closet as a result.
I love creating snowy scenes with jars and cloches. I had fun creating this scene with old cars some years ago.

This time it's all about a snowy scene with a cabin in the woods for me.
Not the horror movie from a few years back, but the Hallmark movie kind.
I'm so in love with this latest jar project.
What is it about fairy lights that create magic out of very little?
I seriously get mesmerized by this sweet little scene.
I honestly started creating my own little story surrounding this precious little cabin in the woods.
I've got it decorated on the inside in my mind complete with a stone fireplace adorned with cedar garlands.
A simple cedar Charlie Brown tree is in the corner.
There's a cozy couch there with a patchwork quilt for cozying up with a mug of hot chocolate after a day spent foraging for the greens to make the fresh garland.
Ahhhhh…..I'm ready to find an airbnb now!

Become mesmerized by creating a simple snowy scene in a jar for thr holidays and all winter long.
Materials
Cookie Jar
Fake Snow
Fairy Lights
Batteries
Faux Trees
Faux Pinecones
Miniature Cabin
Instructions
Place batteries in one of the strands of fairy lights.
Place in the bottom of the large cookie jar.
Cover the battery mechanism with fake snow.
Arrange some of the lights in the jar. You won't need all of them. It will be too cluttered. The rest of the lights can go on the small faux tree that you place beside the jar or around the exterior of the scene.
Place your cabin ornament in the jar.
Flank either side of the cabin with faux mini trees,
Place 2 tiny faux pine cones in front of the scene.
Use the remote to turn on the lights and be mesmerized!

It's a perfect little scene with this tree that I picked up at Walmart last year.
I made the wooden sign with a piece of plywood quite a few years ago. It has always been on our front porch but thought it looked appropriate with this little snowy jar scene.
It was a fun sign project that you can do as well!
Such a fun and simple project!
All the credit for this goes to my helper these days, Ashlyn. We purchased the trees, snow, pine cones, and cabin ornament from Hobby Lobby.
I was busy working on a recipe post and she created this look for me. She did a great job! She even took process photos. While I hate that her college semester is online, I'm not disappointed with her back living at home.
Sadly, the day after she took the photos last week…..my phone went bonkers. I ended up losing all photos on my phone present going back to April.
Even though you don't have the how-to photos, it's a pretty simple DIY to understand from the written instructions and after photos.
