Asian and Weekly Grocery Haul!

admin

Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post on ~Foodie with a Passion~! It’s Thursday which means we’re almost to the weekend! Today’s post is my Asian grocery haul and my weekly shopping trip. But before we get started, remember to click that subscribe button so you don’t miss another Foodie Fun 🤩

Alrighty! So starting with Central Market below is what I got at the Asian store.

Central Market Haul
  • Vermont Curry Mild – 3 boxes since I’m stocking up. I make curry about once a month and this was on sale.
  • Hiyashi Chuuka Noodles – cold ramen with toppings and dipping sauce. I’ll make the dipping sauce from scratch. I will write a post about this in the summer
  • Edamame – used up the last of it a while back and hadn’t replenished
  • Roasted White Sesame Seeds – I used the last of it and needed to pick up more. These last about a year for me.
  • Takuwan – pickles daikon radish. I can easily slice and serve as a side dish for Japanese meals
  • Yakisoba Noodles – as long as I get bean sprouts, this will be a quick and easy dinner
  • Gyoza Wrappers – we used up the last of the potstickers in the freezer last week. Time to make more.
  • Gobo – burdock root. I should have bought a couple of these because I ended up using the entire thing in the braised pork belly dish I made.
  • Daikon Radish – the fresh version. I hadn’t bought one in a while. I like to use this in miso soup and braised dishes.
Grocery Haul

These groceries are combined Safeway and QFC.

  • Light n Fit Greek Yogurt (Strawberry Cheesecake and Lemon Tart) – almost out and I have been using these as my go-to snack if my blood sugar is low at night
  • Avocados – Shrimp Tacos happening this week so I got a couple. Also on sale for $1 at Safeway
  • Bananas – for me and the roommate. Sometimes Hubby will throw this into his smoothies
  • Noosa Yogurt (Strawberry Rhubarb and Raspberry) – my creamy yogurt for making yogurt parfaits. It rarely gets on sale but if I bought two, they went down to $1.49 each at Safeway.
  • Lingcod – on sale at QFC. Hubby said this is a yummy fish so we decided to get it.
  • Rockfish – as advertised at QFC as well. More fish for the freezer.
  • Greek Yogurts (BlackBerry, Raspberry and Black Cherry) – yogurts for the Hubby
  • Flank Steak – on sale for half the price. Can’t wait for Hubby to make me Philly Cheesesteaks
  • Red Grapes – on sale at QFC and this is the fruit for the week
  • Blueberries – on sale as well at QFC. Half to freeze and half to eat this week
  • Green Cabbage – needed a fresh cabbage for tacos
  • Cauliflower – on sale at Safeway. I normally buy cauliflower frozen in a mix so it was nice to buy it fresh
  • Green Onions – we’ve been out for a while. I snipped the ends of the onions and let them grow in the garden but they weren’t big enough for me to use.
  • Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce – free pasta sauce from the Saturday sampler at Safeway
  • Eggs – 99 cents per carton and we got two. I made a bunch of breakfast burritos for meal prep so we went through eggs pretty fast
  • Gatorade Zero (Strawberry Kiwi and Glacier Frost) – strawberry for me and blue for Hubby and Roommate

And there we have it! Let me know in the comments below what you picked up at the grocery store this week and until then… signing off!
