Got some ground beef??? Only a few more staple ingredients will make this yummy dinner!
Brown 1lb of ground beef, 1 tbsp onion flakes and 1 tsp garlic powder. Once cooked, drain all the excess fat.
Add 1 chopped red pepper, 1 (14oz) can diced tomatoes, 1 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, and 1/8 tsp. ground cloves. Cover the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
Toast almond slivers in a separate pan for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Add 1/4 cup slivered almonds and 1/2 cup sliced pimento-stuffed green olives. Stir these in and cook until warm.
Microwave on bag of frozen cauliflower rice. This recipe makes 4 servings. beef with olives and almonds (cuban picadillo)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp onion flakes or 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder or 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 red pepper, chopped
- 1 (14oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup sliced pimento-stuffed green olives
- 16 oz. frozen cauliflower rice
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Cook and stir beef, onion and garlic in a skillet until beef is light brown. Drain beef. Add tomatoes, red pepper, salt, cinnamon and cloves. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
Toast almonds in a small skillet over medium heat until golden, 3-4 minutes.
Microwave cauliflower rice.
Stir almonds and olives into beef mixture. Heat through 3-4 minutes.
Stir 1/2 tsp. cinnamon into cauliflower and reheat for 1 minute.
