There’s a lot to love about bulk-buying frozen food at a spot like Costco. It is affordable, easy to store, and can keep for months, making it easy to stock up for a rainy (or lazy!) day. But can you do it in a way that is delicious and nutritious? We asked a few registered dietitians to share their favorite go-to healthy Costco frozen dinners to stock up on when life gets a little too busy.

1. Milton’s Craft Bakers Cauliflower Crust Frozen Pizza

Finding a cauliflower crust pizza that actually tastes good is easier said than done. And Milton’s Craft Bakers Cauliflower Crust Frozen Pizza certainly fits the bill. “Made with cauliflower as the first ingredient, this gluten-free pizza is a lifesaver on busy nights paired with a bagged salad and some fruit for dessert,” says Lauren Manaker, RDN.

2. Cali’flour Foods Lasagna

If you’re craving lasagna without the pasta, try this pre-made vegetable Cali’flour Foods Lasagna just waiting for you in the Costco frozen dinner section.

“These entrees are made from real ingredients you can pronounce like mozzarella, egg whites, and cauliflower,” says Mackenzie Burgess, RDN, registered dietitian nutritionist and recipe developer at Cheerful Choices. “One entree contains an impressive 24 grams of protein with just 12 grams of net carbs. I love how they’re suitable for different dietary preferences and provide important nutrients like vitamin C, fiber, and iron.”

3. Dr. Praeger’s Organic California Burgers

There’s nothing like a burger after a busy day, but it can be hard to find healthy options. Yet Dr. Praeger’s Organic Cauliflower Burgers are an excellent go-to option when you’re on the hunt for new Costco frozen dinners to stock up on.

“These burgers are filled with a blend of 10 colorful veggies, all providing different vitamins and minerals that keep us healthy. I love topping them with sliced avocado over a whole grain bun for extra fiber,” says Burgess.

4. Tattooed Chef’s Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry

This riced cauliflower is unique in that it is an entire meal, rather than plain frozen riced cauliflower.

Tattooed Chef’s Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry is nutrient-rich, gluten-free, USDA organic certified, and vegan making it an option for most dieters,” says Trista Best, MPH, RD, LD of Balance One Supplements.

Cauliflower is a nutrient-dense vegetable that often gets overlooked for its lack of color and flavor. However, it is extremely versatile and is one of the easiest veggies to sneak into a meal to boost the nutritional value.

“A one-cup serving of this cauliflower is just 60 calories and 3 grams of protein,” she says.

5. Kirkland Signature Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork

Indulging does not have to be a bad word; this Kirkland Signature Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork may seem like a hearty treat, but it actually packs a nutritional punch as well.

“This slow-cooked, hand-pulled pork provides lots of protein with no sugar or carb-based ingredients you might find in other barbecue meats,” says Stephanie Greunke, RD at Levels.

Just be sure not to slather it with sugary barbecue sauce. “Generally, it’s best to choose organic meats, but if you’re going to go with a prepared meat, this option comes from vegetarian-fed animals,” she says.

Eat this meat as a main dish or use it to add protein to stews and chili easily.

6. Trident Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers

Having these Trident Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers on-hand can help you meet the weekly recommended two servings of fish in a simple way.

“Simply cook these burgers and enjoy them on a whole grain bun, and you are good to go,” says Manaker. “The omega-3 fatty acid, high-quality protein, and micronutrient boost you get from these salmon burgers are worth the purchase.”

7. Veggies Made Great Spinach Egg White Frittatas

Breakfast for dinner can be an easy go-to on a busy weeknight, and these Veggies Made Great Spinach Egg White Frittatas make dinner time that much easier.

“Instead of high fat sausage-packed breakfast sandwiches, a frittata that can be heated in the microwave is a healthier option that fuels the body with protein and a touch of veggies,” says Manaker.

Even if you think you are “too busy to cook,” you can handle prepping these frittatas.

8. Sabatasso’s Four Cheese Pizza

One of our favorite Costco frozen dinners to stock up on is Sabatasso’s Four Cheese Pizza. This pizza is gluten-free, making it lower in inflammation-causing ingredients than traditional frozen pizza.

“Finding ways to cut down on gluten in your diet is an effective approach to reducing your chronic inflammation. If inflammation is allowed to persist it is shown to lead to or exacerbate chronic illnesses, like those common to the West,” says Lisa Richards, a nutritionist and author of the Candida Diet. This pizza allows you to feed yourself or your family quickly and affordably without sacrificing your health.
